In a remote community in the forests of the Coromandel, a utopian dream has turned sour.
In the late 1970s a like-minded group of young people decided to live together communally on a block of land in the Coromandel, and the Mahana community was born. In this Vice documentary Arthur Van Resseghem, the last member of that original group, guides the camera around the dilapidated sites of "vandalised" commune houses.

the video starts with Arthur saying that mahana is not a community anymore, he´s the only one living there from 35 years , he says that living there is not easy, but in a moment there was a lot of people( 60-70) staying in Mahana.
20 years ago there was a thriving community, everything was done voluntary, the people did everything on a voluntary bases, nobody was compelled to do anything.
They wanted to be appart of the society because they think that all the problems in the world are caused by the ownership of land.
IN OLD PHOTOS OF MAHANA, IT'S POPULATED BY FAMILIES AND CROWDS OF PEOPLE WHO CAME TO JOIN THE COMMUNE.
The lands of Mahala aren't owned by anybody, and one of the rules is that anyone coud come and live there, this is call a free halt /open community, any person can be a menber by singing the book, they should agree with the rules and the objet of the society, but over the years that philosophy is sort of been watered down by the ones who presently live here, they want to change the rules, and have the land only for themselves, and they destroy houses and others persons can´t live in it, they don´t want anybody new.

For conclusion the the interviewer ask Arthur if he is lonely, because he doesn´t have much contact with other people.
He answers that loneliness is something that he never have experienced in his life.

Then the video ends with one of his quotes :" a real lonely person is lonely in a crowd"
In conclusion we can relate this story to the myth of the novel savage, because Arthur live like one onf them, apart f the society, making everything on his one
